Is Treyarch Developing A New James Bond Game?
A financial earnings report has been released by Activision for the financial quarter just passed. Activision announced that they made $1 billion in revenue which tolls up at a large $200 million profit for the publisher. However, there was a hidden piece of video game news behind this announced is the possible hint of some new games dropped into the report.
Within all the technical talk, there were some hints that in the not too distant future we may see a new Spiderman, Bond, and Tony Hawks game. Mike Griffth, the president of Activision, has confirmed the new Bond game, but has not yet done so for the other 2. Unfortunately, Mr Griffth didn’t give out much information, simple it was in production.
The previous James Bond game was released by Activision, and it proved to be one of the most succesful Bond games to date. That game got gamers playing through 2 different films, Casino Royale and the latest one, Quantum of Solace. That was had been developed by Treyarch, the guys behind the most recent Call of Duty game, possible why it got so many good video game ratings. However, bothing was mentioned about Treyarch being the makers for this new Bond game.
Also, nothing was mentioned about what the story of the game would be based on. So really the game could go in any direction, it could follow a new story, a previous film, or possibly be a prequel for another film.
As for the other 2 games, there were rumours recently about a new Spiderman film being released wich would suggest a new game release aswell, this I look forward to. Finally, the Tony Hawks game, personally I don’t think so because with Tony Hawk: Ride being released in November, I don’t believe they would try and release a second so quickly after Ride. Although, you never know what they will release next, we’ll just have to wait and see.
